New Storytelling Podcast Launched by Wilson Rides, Inc.
Wilson County, TN (December 12, 2022) “Story Time with Wilson Rides” is a brand-new podcast series featuring true and remarkable stories from senior residents of Wilson County, Tennessee.
Gaye Lynn Wilson, Executive Director of Wilson Rides, Inc., discovered that as she and other drivers transported area seniors with their ride service, the trips seemed to always go by quickly because they were filled with stories. Wilson explains the idea for the podcast came from these drives. “Tales of growing up in the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, living through the Great Depression or World War II, these are treasures that should be shared.”
In this inaugural season of Story Time, award winning writer and storyteller Jules Corriere of Jonesboro, TN sits down with some of Wilson County’s local seniors and asks them about their lives.
Coleman Walker
Twelve episodes make up the first season of “Story Time with Wilson Rides.” In the series, story tellers include well-known community members such as long-time radio host Coleman Walker (Lebanon, TN), sharing about his decades on air, favorite guests, and memorable moments. The program also features extraordinary lives of ordinary neighbors, such as Judy Sullivan (Lebanon, TN) who gave birth to triplets in South Africa, and ninety-nine-year-old Kathryn “Ma” McCrary (Mount Juliet, TN), who remembers the days of the Great Depression. Each story teller has a unique and fascinating story, and they are all connected by Wilson County, the place to be, the place they call home.
Wilson Rides is celebrating the launch of Story Time with an appearance on Coleman and Company on WANT FM 98.9/WCOR AM 1490 Radio on Monday, December 12 at 7:00am, as well as hosting a Podcast Premiere Party on Wednesday, December 14 at The Fite-Fessenden House in Lebanon, TN from 5:30 – 7:00PM and by making an appearance on OpenLine with Carrie Sharp on WTVF-TV, NewsChannel 5 Nashville on Monday, December 19th at 7:00PM.
Story Time with Wilson Rides launched its first podcast the first week of October, and will add new episodes every other week.
