Give65: July 12-15, 2022

Support aging adults during 65-hour online giving event

Wilson County, TN – July 11, 2022 – As the world moves into a new chapter of the pandemic, aging adults continue to be in need. As they experience isolation and loneliness daily, services supporting older adults remain critical to a healthy aging process. Wilson Rides remains committed to serving aging adults through their transportation services, working every day to fulfill their mission of providing safe, reliable, affordable transportation to local destinations in Wilson County, Tennessee.

The Give65 Event, hosted by Home Instead Charities, provides Wilson Rides with an opportunity to rally the community to support older adults served by their organization. From July 12 thru 15, WILSON RIDES is participating in the seventh-annual event, a 65-hour online giving event exclusively for charitable organizations serving aging adults. Donations can be made here: https://www.give65.org/WilsonRidesInc

This year, Home Instead Charities is providing $160,000 in matching dollars, with each organization qualifying for a maximum of $5,000, while funds are available. These are a dollar-for-dollar match, meaning as long as the $160,000 in matching funds are still available, each dollar donated will be matched up to $5,000 per organization. Home Instead Charities will also offer an additional $10,000 in matching grants once $500,000 is collectively raised on the Give65 site. Every organization is eligible for up to $500 of this matching grant fund, while those funds are available.

Also, during the Give65 Event, there are eight $10,000 financial rewards and eight $1,000 available. Every participating organization is divided into one of four categories based on their operating budget. For each category, one nonprofit can receive the $10,000 financial reward for most dollars raised and another (not the same nonprofit) can receive the $10,000 financial reward for most donors. The same is true with the $1,000 financial reward, which is awarded to the second-place finisher in each category.

“Give65 allows us to highlight the needs of older adults, help aging adults in our community, and raise critical dollars for the much-needed services we offer to our members,” says Gaye Lynn Wilson, Executive Director of Wilson Rides.

The 65-hour Give65 Event begins at 8 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, July 12 and concludes at 1:00 a.m. CDT on July 15.

“Every individual deserves to age with independence and dignity. Through services offered by Wilson Rides, aging adults are supported and celebrated in their aging journey. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Wilson Rides for the seventh-annual Give65 Event. The charitable sector serves a critical role in supporting aging adults in need, and we thank all of those who financially support this important work,” says Lenli Corbett, executive director of Home Instead Charities.
