COVID-19 Policy Wilson Rides Inc

Wilson Rides provides an essential service to senior adults 55+ in Wilson County, TN. Many of the requested rides are a necessity as these requests are to doctor’s appointments, grocery stores and pharmacies; rides that are integral to maintaining their health and wellbeing.

Since our volunteer’s health and safety as well as the safety of the senior adults we serve is our #1 priority, we ask that the guidelines below are followed. These guidelines will be followed until it has been deemed safe by state and local officials to lift additional safety precautions and resume normal services.

Health and Safety Guidelines
Stay Home If You Are Sick

If you develop a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or any other COVID-19 related symptoms, do not volunteer to drive or take any scheduled rides.
Seek medical attention immediately and do not return to driving or riding until you can present a statement from your physician clearing you to drive or ride.
Please report to Wilson Rides if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 so that the proper testing, notification and contact tracing can be conducted to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 to others associated with the Wilson Rides program.

ALL PERSONAL AND MEDICAL INFORMATION WILL BE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL

Requested Rides

Only trips that are absolutely necessary such as medical, grocery, pharmacy and drive thru bank trips will be scheduled at this time.

Ride Guidelines

Volunteer drivers will try to maintain social distancing of 6 feet while providing rides. Because of this, Wilson Rides will be limiting physical assistance as much as possible.

Volunteer drivers can still assist in opening doors but should refrain from entering the riders’ residence or destination, particularly during medical appointments.

Riders will be asked to sit in the back seat opposite the volunteer driver.

Volunteer drivers and riders both will wear face coverings at all times.

Volunteer drivers will wipe down seats, doors, handles, and other surfaces touched by the rider with disinfectant after each trip.

Volunteer drivers and riders are asked to continue to wash their hands before and after volunteering and riding as well as to use hand sanitizer after contact with frequently touched surfaces.
